10.000 teachers and 100.000 students in 5.000 primary and secondary schools in 14 European countries |
Inspiring Science Education [ISE] (http://inspiring-science-education.net/) is a project funded by the European Commission under the CIP-ICT-PSP programme to encourage the use of eLearning tools for enhancing and fostering Inquiry Based Science Education [IBSE] in European schools.
The project, which started in April 2013 and will run until July 2016 with a multi-stakeholder partnership from 14 different European countries, including educational and training authorities, pedagogical experts, science research teams, museum educators, European associations and school networks, educational outreach experts, teachers’ communities, highly innovative ICT companies and eLearning solutions developers.
The main objectives of the project are:
- To support the adoption of eLearning tools.
- To improve their integration in national curricula.
- Το reach 10,000 teachers and 100,000 students in 5,000 primary and secondary schools in 14 European countries (Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, France, Greece, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain and United Kingdom) in the framework of the proposed activities.
- To help students to genuinely enjoy the process of learning Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM subjects).
SETApps involvement
- To support the implementation of the large-scale pilots of the project, by organizing training workshops, demonstrations of e-learning tools and National Contests.
- Raising awareness through dissemination activities.
- The involvement of the F1 in Schools network of schools and teachers.
